Throughout his career he has proven to enjoy working with others to solve problems as they pursue the truth. He reveres the strong relationships built along the way as he looks to employ his passions as a creative vehicle for change going into the next installment of his life.

Middle East | Europe

During a pivotal time in history, Jacob traveled to Israel to seek deeper personal understanding of the region. Following this, he embarked on an introspective journey across various locations in Europe to reflect on the cultural landscapes that have shaped today’s society. While personally transformative, he sought to interpret the dynamics of the world for himself.

In the twilight of his collegiate career at BGSU, Jacob chose to explore the synergies of business administration and the music industry in his Honors Project entitled, “Lucky’s Legacy: Determining an Effective Relationship between Music and Business Management Principles.” With creating the BGSU Jazz Philharmonic Orchestra, Jacob was the featured artist in performing his suite entitled, Home. This piece highlights various concepts employed in jazz music, and the process for developing this project clinically aligns with frequented management fundamentals and frameworks of today.

Music is often touted as a universal language. While the ways in which someone can appreciate a song may differentiate from someone else, both people can agree on the music they share. Through his time as a jazz musician, Jacob have acquired a unique perspective on how someone listens and how music can bring about unity across people of various backgrounds.

Summer 2022 | Etna, Ohio

This experience allowed for the leadership of 50-200+ people in daily activities, while shadowing upper management to learn about the roles and effective decision making. Using internal data, Jacob conducted an independent research project to develop protocols limiting injuries in the workplace.

Summer 2021 | Columbus, Ohio

Through his communications management internship with WCBE, Jacob helped foster concise messaging for the station, as well as composing underwriting work for radio advertising. He also served as a connector between departments, helping facilitate cross-disciplinary actions such as working with live studio performances and assisting with postproduction of recordings.

  • Jacob was an Alumni Laureate Scholar, President of the Student Jazz Association, and a Student Ambassador for the Schmidthorst College of Business. Jacob graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors, Leadership Distinction, and the President’s Award.

    Jacob graduated from BGSU with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies as part of the 2023 graduating class.

  • Jacob has performed with world-class musicians such as Joel Frahm, Allison Miller, and Pedrito Martinez. He has performed around the world, playing in major cities such as New Orleans and Vienna, Austria.

    Over the past seven years, he has enjoyed playing for others, sharing his experiences through private instruction and volunteer work.
